NEW YEAR NEW LOOK
Our new factory is finally up & running, with the last piece of machinery arriving this week. It has been a big step in the Pepe Saya journey!
With brand new batch butter churns, cream holding tanks for the fermentation process, a carton packing machine for our buttermilk and a butter re-work line – The location has proved to be outstanding with no hiccups in our distribution or accessibility for our staff. It truly is our dream set up!

NEW BUTTERMILK PACKAGING
The biggest news so far out of the new facility is the commissioning of our buttermilk carton packing machine, which means we can finally move away from plastic bottles.
This has been a year in the making as we started researching more sustainable options so we could move away from plastic. We found glass to be unsustainable for a dairy product- with most people only using the bottle once, and glass needing a large amount of energy to be created & recycled.
We found cartons to be the best option- being lightweight they use less energy in transport and refrigeration, there are no breakages and they are recyclable across Australia. They also give us the added benefit of extended shelf life that you have all been asking for!

We found an old Haskon U340 in Queensland that we bought off the good people at Ivy Home Milk. We’ve spent the last couple of months customising our processes to allow for the best efficiency & shelf life on our buttermilk.
Pepe Saya buttermilk will remain the same fresh, viscous & acidic product that you are accustomed to, with the added benefit of a 3 week shelf life (from a 9 day shelf life).
The new Pepe Saya cartons will be rolled out from mid-February.
